Great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is one of the largest and most aggressive ocean predators. Back and sides of this fish are gray, brown or black, and the belly is white, why the shark got its name. The average size of the predator is 5-6 meters and weights from 600 to 3200 kg, although was able to measure specimen, the length of which reached 11 meters, but apparently this is not the limit. Instances that are less than four meters, has not yet reached puberty and are considered teenagers.
Scientists have found out an interesting fact: at the end of the tertiary period there existed a great white shark, measuring up to 30 m in length. In the mouth of such a giant could easily accommodate eight people, and if this type of has survived to the present day, the existence side by side wouldn’t do humanity any good. Continue reading
Quite different is the case on wild beaches. Here, you should be more careful and to wear special rubber Slippers, which will save you the trouble of stepping on a sharp stone, shell puncture, broken glass or sea urchin, which often can be found on the beaches of the island. After all, the warm and salty water is a Paradise for sea urchins. Thank God in Cyprus they are not poisonous, but nevertheless, contact with this sea dweller can spoil the whole impression from the release. If you stepped on a sea urchin you should immediately turn to the lifeguards who were on duty at the beach or to the doctor in any government hospital (good first aid free in Cyprus). If you do not have this capability, you should maintain the leg in hot water and carefully, not breaking off(!) get leather needles, and then RUB antiseptic and closely monitored, so the wound was not festering.
Morays are dangerous marine creatures that live in Cyprus.

White sharks ( Carcharodon carcharias ), as one of the most feared predators of the planet, a long time ago stand on the top of the food chain. However, it appeared that their flesh becomes a subject of hunting. Moreover, the person not only modest in size, but extremely shy.
So, allow me to introduce the Brazilian luminous shark ( Isistius brasiliensis ). This fish reaches a length of 40-50 centimeters. Its English name “cookiecutter shark”, literally translated as “the shark, which cuts out the cookies”, which humorously reflects the way of her hunting.
The members of this species make daily migrations from a depth of over 3.7 km to the surface at dusk and back to dawn. In this way sharks and intersect with potential victims, including up to the present time were many large fish and marine mammals, including tuna, whales, dolphins, swordfish and even elephants.
